This traditional variety had become very popular by the 1930's. Tall plants produce stunning two-tone flowers. Deep orange petals are backed by crimson, making this a stunning cut flower.

What are the pros? Easy, lots of flowers

What are the cons? No complaints

Review:

I used cement blocks to build my blueberry beds and popped a few of these seeds into each of the holes. I kind of forgot about them, but the plants grew in very nicely and have tons of flowers! I saved the seed and plan to grow in a large bed next year.

Review:

Easy to grow! I started from seed in the greenhouse and transplanted them to the garden. They were so easy to grow and look great! Deadhead aggressively, and they just keep coming back. I let some go to seed and have them coming up in the garden in November! When they started to look scraggly, I whacked them down to the ground and they are growing even fuller than before. Frost seems to damage them, and we have only had a little so far. We will see if the winter hurts them, but I will cut a few to the ground again, and mulch to see if I have them in the spring.
