80 days. A variety from the former Soviet Union that we are very pleased to offer! Uniform, 6-to 8- inch fruit in a smooth-skinned, hard, golden rind have white to very pale cream-colored flesh, crunchy yet juicy. The flavor is positively outstanding, like a honeydew in flavor with overtones of mulberry or banana.

What are the pros? everything

What are the cons? what's there to dislike

Review:

My partner loved everything about this melon. Taste like some tropical fruit, banana perhaps. fragrant. And yes its sweet. Good producer. Will grow for our farmers market stand. It tolerated lot of abuse. Started in 50ct trays in Mar. and neglected. Planted in the field way past when it should have been. Root bound and it managed to spring back and produced well. No problem with disease. Good germination rate, very little transplant shock. All survived the transplant. Tolerated 41F nights.

What are the pros? Early, tasty

What are the cons? quite small

Review:

Really tasty - all of them sweet, productive, early, thin rind. Easy to tell when it is ripe - remains orange and easily separates from the plant. One of the best I planted this year. Zone 6, 2 months cold, 1 month hot, dry summer.

What are the pros? Taste!

What are the cons? Don't know when its ripe

Review:

The flavor of this melon is unique, its not honeydew, its not cantaloupe, its not watermelon. It has its own - very good - flavor. Its texture is also unique, it is crisp yet melting. The sweetness is also very high. This is now my new favorite melon. I've only got 2 complaints. 1.I don't know how to tell when it is ripe. DO NOT PICK when it is green like the picture baker creek has, you need to wait until it is yellow. Mine turned yellow and then i left them on the vine for another 2 weeks - very good! I got some more on the vine still to see if they will ever "slip" from the vine. 2.While it was one of the first melons to set fruit (I planted 20 varieties) they take a couple weeks longer to ripen - but it is worth it!

Review:

I tried these this year. I picked one while it was green like in the photo but it tasted like a cucumber which I thought was strange so the next ones I left on the vine and it turned orange like a pumpkin. It is the most amazing tasting melon I have ever had. So rich and sweet. yummy. It has a strong honey banana flavor. I got about 6 5 lbs melons per plant. I am planting a bunch next year.

Review:

This one has a good germination rate, and starts of very well...but then that's it. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried to grow these in different soils, changed the watering schedule, move to the south part of the land with full sun. Of the 3 that I planted, 2 died, and one is really trying. It will put out male flowers, but no female flowers, and & never any fruit. I really wnat this melon to do well. :(
