55 days. Here’s simply the most productive leaf-type lettuce we know of. Gigantic plants produce far more leaf than others—allow them extra room. And Italianischer doesn’t scrimp on quality, either: the gorgeous, apple-green oak type leaves are crisp, juicy, sweet and delicious. Throw in moderate heat resistance, and you’ve got a real stand-out variety that earns its keep in any garden!

What are the cons? none

Review:

The neighborhood kids really enjoyed this one -- planting it with me, watching it grow, picking it. Relatively instant gratification. Lots to share.

Review:

Wish I could post a photo! This was oak-leaf lettuce gone gigantic, knee-high almost. I planted it behind a thick stand of peas to protect it when the weather warmed up and it lasted into late June before I moved to newer lettuce plantings for my own use and fed this to the chickens. Wish I could post a photo here. Definitely a keeper.

What are the pros? Easy to Grow, Great Flavor

What are the cons? None

Review:

This lettuce was very easy to grow, just make sure it you plant it in the right place. We grow all our lettuce alongside the back of our house where it only gets direct sun the first half of the day and we have no issues no matter what variety we grow. This variety was very tasty and had a good crunch.

Review:

This was a disappointment. They came up, and wimped along then nothing. Then bolted. Fed it to my chickens. I'm trying something else next year.
