Got tasty 27 and 28 pound melons from this variety, and I have grown many others that did not perform well. Tolerated our cool mornings here in the foothills.

What are the pros? Huge oblong watermelon

What are the cons? Vigorous vining

Review:

This seedling really took off when the Arizona summer really heated up. Grew like crazy! This plant is totally heat tolerant, which is a big plus in our climate. Fruiting is great! I have about 4-5 that I can see right now. These watermelons are oblong and huge. Picked one yesterday and it weighed 25 pounds! Wasn't sure it was ready to pick since this is my first time growing watermelon but I did and it was delicious. Great deep red color, fragrant and very juicy, crisp and mildly sweet. This is very easy to grow. This watermelon thrives in HOT weather. It's definitely not bushy. This plant will grow like a jungle if you let it. Overall, a great watermelon! I also had good luck with Stone Mountain which I will report on shortly.

What are the pros? All of it

What are the cons? none

Review:

Great melon. Easy to grow, no problems or pests. Not real sure about the "bush" part, as these have 20 foot vines..... I have heavy clay soil and propagate with wood ash(oak), and bluegills. They love it like all my melons and each weighed 14-19lb. out of 11 melons. Will grow again. Super taste, which i believe to be better than georgia rattlesnake, orangeglo, or the colb gem. Im impressed! Good find Bakers Creek!!!
