What are the pros? Unique, grows well in cold
What are the cons? None
I've never grown garbanzo beans before, so I decided to give these a try, hoping they'd grow well in cool weather. Wow, am I impressed. They grew great throughout the summer, though they weren't fond of the high-altitude sunlight and had a tendency to burn. Light shade is best at high altitudes for these guys. But this plant made it through the first hard frost, and then even our first snowfall! It finally died once the temps really dropped down, but if you're looking for a producer that's hardy, this one is it. I haven't eaten them yet because I only grew a couple plants to test how they would fare here, so I saved all the beans for next year. Can't wait to try them again!
