100 days. Huge melons that have grown as large as 130 lbs.! This variety dates back to at least the 1880's. The fruit are nearly round and have sweet, red flesh. Excellent choice if giant watermelons are desired.

What are the pros? Size, Hardy, Yummy

What are the cons? waiting for them to ripen

Review:

Always thought growing giant fruit had a trick to it. I grew them like any other melon The largest weighing 97 with most coming in around 70. I would still be harvesting these behemoths if I had the fifty feet of width in my garden needed for these vines. I simply cut them back after the fruits set to a manageable thirty feet. Red sweet juicy flesh with not very many seeds. Shipped well with nice thick skins. Outstanding very fast seller. Crowd pleaser. They sell themselves. Next year a fifty foot wide row for these champs. Stay on top of disease prevention though, and don't hurt yourself picking them up.
