What are the pros? Taste!
What are the cons? determinate in IL
I'm updating my previous review...today is August 31. Large Barred Boar is finished for the year here in northern Illinois. After 35 years of gardening in this area, indeterminate tomatoes continue to grow and produce until frost. We should have tomatoes until end of September and then plenty of green tomatoes for canning. My Large Barred Boar plants and now finished for the year. They topped out just less than shoulder height to me (and I'm 5 feet tall) and all of her 'maters are finished. No more. No more blossoms and only 3 green 'maters on 5 plants. Not sure if it's the climate, but here, they behave like determinate tomato plants. But they served me well and produce a lot of fruit! Very happy with them!
