What are the cons? need faster growing

Review:

At first, I started my free gift of lemon queen sunflowers inside with some T5s. Didn't water for 3 days and they got fried. One survived, so I put her outside with some autumn beauty and chocolate sunflowers. I hope she puts out lots of flowers to feed my chickens.

Review:

I received a packet of these as my free gift last year. They were easy to grow yellow flowers with a nice dark center. Each plant produced many flowers. I liked them much more than the mammoth varieties I've grown in the past. This is a fantastic sunflower.

Review:

I live in a cool summer, short season zone 7B area. However, 2015 was our hottest summer on record. I planted seeds towards the end of June knowing full well that I'd probably left it too late. I was astonished that my two plants grew so quickly. Even though they were in pots, one grew to 5' to 7' while the other was 4' to 6'. They both had multiple flowers in a lovely, serene yellow with rich, chocolate brown centers. If August and the beginning of September had been as hot as June and July were, I'm sure I would have had many sunflower seeds for the Oregon Juncos, Black-capped Chickadees, Chestnut-backed Chickadees and American Goldfinches. The seeds just couldn't quite mature in time. At least I was able to enjoy the flowers. I'll try again next year and plant them at the first of May.

Review:

I planted a row of these in April, before the last frost, on the east side of a north-south fence. Nearly every seed germinated and shot up quickly. I tried re-planting the few which didn't germinate, but their growth was stunted due to the shade from those planted in April. Heavy June rains and winds caused some to lean, but never topple. I tied those to the fence with twine. By mid-July, By the tallest were 12 feet in height. Disks ranged from 1.5 up to 5 inches in diameter. I documented a number of different pollinators, but mostly long-horned (specialist) bees, green metallic bees, and bumble bees. Few, if any, honey bees. Once the seeds are ripe, yellow finches and squirrels will decimate them all within a matter of days. (Keep this in mind if you plan on saving any seeds.)

What are the pros? Great germination rate.

What are the cons? maybe a little too tall....

Review:

Got these as a freebie with my order and planted them alongside the Autumn Beauty sunflower seeds I purchased. These things grew quite tall, guesstimating about 8 feet when I used my own height for reference. So tall in fact that I staked them all as they were getting quite a lean after a few heavy rains we had (we've had a wet summer, zone 6b). Planted in late May and as of now, late July, all 3 seeds germinated and have produced multiple flowers per plant. Flowers themselves aren't huge which allows them to not droop so much compared to other sunflowers I've seen. Even though I didn't choose them, I'm happy I received them and will most likely plant them again next year (albeit in a different location).
