90 days. One of the most popular heirloom types; this one has 7”-long fruit that are white with lovely bright purple stripes. They are so beautiful and have fabulous flavor with sweet, tender flesh. This excellent variety hails from Spain, a country that is renowned for fine food.

What are the pros? Gorgeous, produced well, taste

What are the cons? Not much. I grew too many!

Review:

We grew three of these plants this year, and had so much eggplant! We're still eating it well into winter. Very productive for us (we had an abnormally hot summer with temperatures often over 100 degrees and rarely below 90). We treated them like the tomatoes, with fertile soil and a little bit of compost in the bottom of the planting hole. We had so many we gave away 5 bags full to the local food pantry! Very tasty plants - I didn't like eggplant and only grew them because they were pretty, but now they're one of my favorite things in the garden thanks to Listada de Gandia. They tasted about the same at every stage, until they turned yellowish. They're also the prettiest things, and give me lots of joy to see. Will always grow these.

What are the pros? Everything

What are the cons? none

Review:

A beautiful and prolific eggplant. Although not sold as a larger variety, mine was very wide and around four feet high. It stayed in constant production until the first frosts. The eggplants held extremely well on the bush, and even after an extended time were as sweet as when very small. I will always grow this eggplant in the future.

What are the pros? Wonderful flavor, Easy to grow

What are the cons? Nothing not to like.

Review:

Loved this plant. We fried and stuffed it and made it into our stir fries. It was just so pleasant. It grew shaded by our corn and sometimes we would forget it then we would be surprised to find 5 or 6 more eggplants to pick. Wonderful flavor and tender.

What are the pros? pretty skin

What are the cons? poor production

Review:

I was disappointed with both the vigor and the productivity of this eggplant. Slow maturing, spindly growth compared to other eggplants in my garden, and poor productivity. The few eggplants I did get were pretty and tasted fine.

Review:

Grew this in SE MI. grew well no pest issues seen. I grew about 12 plants. gave good steady supply of fruit all summer. fruit will elongate as it matures. MI on same latitude as northern spain, south of france. Therefore quality of sunlight & summer temperature similar. Only saw seed in the fruit i deliberately left to mature for the seed production. Will try to grow from my saved seed this year to see if I have been successful in my first attempt at seed saving from an egg plant.
