Lollo Bionda Lettuce

One of the prettiest lime-green varieties I have seen; the shiny-green sister of Lollo Rosso. This variety also has extremely frizzy, crinkled and compact leaves. Tender and so tasty. A real standard in fresh European salads.

Review:

The first year it didn't seem to do much (maybe they got eaten by critters), but last year we planted about 10 in our new hoophouse and they did great! The heads may be small, but we kept harvesting and they kept on growing. Am ordering more.

Review:

I live in Western Washington, and grew this in my hoophouse in January- March. It did much better than the other varieties I grew in the cold, moist, weather. There was a super hard frost outside when these lettuces only had one pair of true leaves, and they were frozen solid. The next day, while the other lettuces were either sick and dying or dead, these Lolo Biondas survived! They are also super pretty, too, and they are such a bright lime green! Almost neon.

Review:

This is a very pretty ornamental lettuce with a mild tasty flavor. Excellent texture too. However the heads are small and you should plant a lot of them for a good yield. we planted 10 of them for 2 people and could still eat double the plantings! Excellent for foodies who like unique stuff.

Very tasty, pretty but small heads. I prefer larger leaf lettuce, but if you like the dainty type, this is a good choice.
