Review:

I selected this radish to simply compare to others in the garden and my expectations were not high. Generally a few radishes is all we need but this is one that I have continued to plant a few every couple of weeks to have them around in the garden all the time. It really takes off in the cooler weather. The texture is smooth and crunchy, the root is slender and long, the flavor is radish but not too much bite--just enough bite--grate and use raw on a salad or use in a quick pickle salad mix. Yum! Finally a radish that is more than a cute, round orb to make into a rose!

Review:

Terrific radish to grow and eat out here when your starving for food. Homeless, living in an RV, after bank illegally steals your home after 17 years, while trying to build a micro farm from scratch after 3 years out here in San Diego, CA! I typically really hate radishes! But living like I am back in the 1800's helps out a lot! The Red Long Scarlet radish fits that profile perfectly! I grew one radish that reached 12 inches in length from head to tail! I ain't kiddin! I ate the whole radish! It was delicious! It was spicy too! Now I am growing some new radishes! The black radishes! Until then I am feeding off of my Scarlet radishes! No one can have any of my Scarlet radishes! Except for my family! Growing terrific Scarlet radishes out here San Diego! Peace out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are very yummy and so beautiful too! The greens are also very tasty in a salad with the root. Pulled a couple, chopped up the whole thing and pan fried in butter... sooooo yum Leaving 25 plants to go to seed; LOL I hope that is enough :D friends and family love them too on a side note these were also one of 3 things in our garden to survive and bear fruit during last years excruciating drought (2 months of 110*F and over).

Review:

We just picked these today (NE Texas) and it is the best radish I've tried so far. The flavor was good, spicy, but not hot. The texture was wonderful... very crisp and not woody at all. We had gotten some from a friend, but I am now ordering 5 packets since you don't offer it in bulk.

Review:

The plant itself is quite vigourous and the seed germinates readily. But I have to say that, to judge from the half-dozen young specimens i've sampled so far in the season, the taste is off and the texture very woody. Neither of these characteristics improve with age, so I will not plant this variety again in my Chicago (5b) garden.
