A sugary-sweet watermelon from Israel; this variety is great for warm climates. Small fruit weigh about 10 lbs. Green-striped rind and delicious light-red flesh is really refreshing. A good little melon for small families and market growers.

What are the pros? Grew well, set good crop.

What are the cons? Never got ripe.

Review:

We grow 20 melons every year. We got every variety ripe but this one. We start harvest with early varieties mid July . Malawi hadn't made it by late Oct.

What are the cons? None

Review:

This is a wonderful watermelon. I had four plants and I have 4 large (~10 lbs.) melons and several smaller ones, probably ~5-7 lbs. I put seeds in the dirt and gave then no special attention other than some early organic fertilizer in May/June. Yesterday (August 27) I picked the first one and my wife said it's the best watermelon she ever had. This melon will be in my annual garden repertoire from here on out. Thanks Baker Seeds for providing this wonderful variety.

What are the pros? Sweetness, easy to grow

What are the cons? Lots of seeds, but big seeds.

Review:

These matured quicker than our sugar baby's and rattlesnake. Grew well in SD in times of drought and wetness. Grew on south hill of home. FULL sun.

Review:

Absolutely delicious , prolific, pest and disease free perfect size melon for the home or market grower. I will NEVER waste space for any other watermelon, these are perfectly sweet and yummy, seeds are edible or easily scooped out. Our community garden is new and the sandy soil needs lots of work, but these grew beautifully! Maybe we were just lucky, but all were picked at their peak, none were wasted. With a potential frost looming next week, I picked one of the 6 remaining today in mid October - knowing it was not ripe but to check the progress - and although only slightly pink in the middle, it was amazingly tasty. Not possible to find a better watermelon!
