What are the pros? Easy to grow, taste wonderful
What are the cons? took longer to mature
I planted these mayacoba beans with two other beans next to my blueberry bushes. I expected from my internet searches for this to be a bush type of bean. Well it was a pole bean. Didn't expect it to cover up my blueberry bushes. Will need poles for this variety. They took longer to mature than the other variety of beans but were worth the wait. Very prolific and did have some pest issues. Though I do not use any pesticides. I think my biggest critter issue was stink bugs and possibly leaf footed nymphs? Overall, I'm very happy with the mayacoba in texture and flavor. They are one of my favorite beans for chili.
