What are the pros? Tasty

What are the cons? Slug magnet

Review:

This is a classic Chinese cabbage. It gets to about 2' tall, and wide, so plant 2' apart. It needs lots of water and protection from pests, and even then is a slug magnet. I took the leaves apart and had to wash off many slugs. Ugh. It is also not a good keeper, so succession plant so you don't have a glut. Oh, and it gets some sort of black mold on some of the leaves sometimes. It's just more finicky than other greens, such as tatsoi. Grow it if you want something to pamper a bit, if slugs don't bother you, and if you want lots of the classic, delicious Chinese cabbage taste for a week or two in October.

What are the pros? easy to grow, abundant harvest

What are the cons? looks nothing like the picture

Review:

So, the cabbage looks nothing like the picture. The leaves are not closed as all, but very open, and spread out over 18 inches. However, they did very well in my winter cold frame garden, despite being so large and open. I gathered outer leaves as needed for stir fry, soups, and salads. Super delicious.

What are the pros? Very leafy

What are the cons? I didn't get heads??

Review:

This is such a terrific tasting cabbage! The blossoms are wonderful as are the big leaves. Wonderful in stir fried veggies - such as zucchini fry. I have never grown this type of cabbage - I don't think I'll go back to a standard cabbage head.
