Central Texas zone 8, TX
What are the pros? heat tolerant, as lettuces go
What are the cons? none
I purchased a bulk packet of MBlettuce in 2013 and it lasted for the spring and fall plantings of '13 as well as the 1st half of 2014. Lettuce can be difficult in warm locals. When planted in direct sun, the heat tolerant characteristics of this variety don't appear to be very dominate. However, in the shade the MignBronz does the job. It's lettuce, which means it's going to bolt at some point. That has to be accepted. However, the seed germinates quickly, it doesn't have to be worked into the soil meaning its easy to companion plant and you can reseed it constantly in zone 8 up to December or later pending the harshness of that particular winter. I have to agree with the other reviewer from Texas; this is a great warm weather/Texas/southern variety. Currently it is mid June and the remaining seed I spread under my already established okra is doing superbly.
