(Dracocephalum moldavicum) Eurasian native that has been cultivated for centuries. The minty-lemony leaves and large purple flowers have long been used in a tea for reputed herbal benefits, including "lightening a discouraged heart." Beloved by bees, like all the mint tribe.

What are the pros? easy to grow, tastes good

What are the cons? none

Review:

I'm so glad I tried this plant! It is growing very well here in southern california. Tea made from the leaves is very tasty, and blends well with other herbs, lemon, and honey. The bees and pollinators are loving the beautiful purple flowers. Definitely a keeper in my garden.

What are the pros? Flowers and scent

What are the cons? None

Review:

Lovely purple flowers with deeper green foliage. The scent of the crushed leaves is a bit addictive. I truly enjoyed the tea I made with it. We found that it liked semi-shade and a fair amount of water in our warmer climate.

This is a truly lovely plant. Every seed germinated, fast growing and has pretty lavendar flowers and a sweet, true lemon scent that wafts in the breeze. Will order more.
