65 days. A Guatemalan heirloom superb for fall decorations. The 4-lb. fruit are pumpkin-shaped with big ribs, with golden yellow and dark green-striped skin. The young fruit are good fried as summer squash, and mature fruit can be made into pies and preserves. Almost extinct in the USA but sold commercially in Europe.

What are the pros? beautiful sweet nutty flavor

What are the cons? Ants love the flowers

Review:

My daughter gave me this seed at the end of the 2012 growing season. I misplaced them for a season. Planted in Spring of 2014 thinking that I had nothing to lose. They came out of the ground like charging bulls. They need space, of the 3 types of squash I'm growing, this is by far the best. Everyone I give it to is impressed and they want more. All claiming that it is the best squash they have ever eaten. The ants can suck the life out of the flowers. I sprinkle cinnamon into the flowers in the morning which works beautifully. The ants are not attracted to the flowers of my other squash plants. If you have the room, grow this plant. If you don't have the room, somehow make it work. Well worth the effort.

What are the pros? Grows like a weed! Nice squash

What are the cons? scratchy vine

Review:

The only caveat I would present here with this particular seeds- is the vines and the stems have stickers on them- some of which actually cut my hand pretty badly! However, the squash is worth it! Gorgeous squash just have to wear gloves when harvesting or weeding around!

What are the pros? Easy to grow, lots of fruit!

What are the cons? none

Review:

Planted this for the first time and can't believe how well it is doing! The plant is taking over the garden (because I didn't know to give it more space). It is covered with fruit that is maturing nicely. It is very hardy. I have lots of aphids this year and this plant could care less! The squash are beautiful. Definitely a keeper on my seed list!

Review:

Had our first squash last night. The vine is growing and growing. Waiting for another squash to mature more before I cut it down. Most of the flowers have not provided a squash but it is still early.

Review:

This is a keeper for us. It was relatively productive - we got probably 20 +/- squash off of just a couple plants this summer. We were pleased, as we got an incredibly late start for the seeds and dealt with one of the shortest and coldest summers we've had in a long time. This squash develops a very hard shell - we've had it down in the basement for a month and they are just lovely still. I don't know how much longer I'll keep them down there. We're going to try to get the squash processed in the next month, but we'll definitely get at least 2-3 months of storage out of them easily.
