What are the pros? pretty, tasty, low maintenance
What are the cons? difficult to germinate
These require a heat mat to germinate, and are a little tricky. This shouldn't be a problem for anyone with experience starting seedlings, or an intrepid beginner, though. We only had one plant that survived the ground hogs, but it bore well despite not really getting enough light. Probably they'd do even better with full sun! The fruit are small, but gorgeous and absolutely delicious!
The flavour is delicate enough that I like them raw and alone as a snack so it isn't overpowered by anything. My family prefers them in salad, and they go well in stir fry with other lightly flavoured veggies, like squash. They're lightly sweet, with an underlying tartness and just a hint of peppery bite. Utterly divine; 10 out of 10 would recommend. I'm absolutely planting them again this year!
