We are so excited to finally list this incredible mix of French scallops. This mix contains fruit in many colors, with many being striped and warted! One of the most ornamental varieties we have seen. Fruit are good picked young and cooked, or used when hard for decorations. Add lots of style to your summer and fall displays.

What are the pros? Ornamental, colorful

What are the cons? none

Review:

I loved these, planted them for 2 years now. First year only got a couple due to squash vine borer problems, but this last year I got several from a few plants. I grow these for the gourds/decorative purposes as fall is my favorite season. Will always grow these!

Review:

So far this is the best squash I've ever grown. When the squash is young ,it has richer flavor and firmer texture than most summer squash. When the fruit is ripe, though it does not taste as sweet as pumpkins, still good enough for our Chinese stew pumpkin. Another surprise is the hard rind of the ripe fruit, that I must use an ax to open it. I thought this may be a good candidate for container squash and tried to cut open one carefully then microwave the whole squash . After scooped out all the flash, the rind remained thick and intact. The fruits are so beautiful for containers. I will try my best to find ways to dry them for craft uses.

Had one very productive plant lost a couple others. Gosh they are a fun plant. catch them early and wow they are great on the grill. They don't like heat.. At least dry CA zone 8-9 Had to give them more water than other squash.

Grew these in zone 4 midwest WI. Bushes grew quickly and 2 squash developed on each bush. Some were warted with yellow stripes and others were smooth with yellow stripes. I didn't pick any early to eat because I was keeping them for ornamental purposes. Will grow again!!

Harvested young - it is even more flavorable than Bennings Green Tint athough they can be used in the same dish. One grew large while I was trying to harvest them as summer squash and was more beautiful than the ones shown in your ad - it sits in my kitchen as a decoration and reminder of fall decorations to come! Can harldy wait to do my next order to assure I am never without these.
