A lovely red and white mottled balsam variety that really makes a beautiful statement in the garden. Splashy color over a long period on upright 2’ tall lovely plants. Fast blooming direct from seed.

What are the pros? Gorgeous!

What are the cons? Too pretty to dislike

Review:

I've grown Balsam before because it is so super easy to do, but never any that had bi-colored flowers! I absolutely had to have them when I saw them in my catalogue! The seeds I planted came up just fine and grew healthily. I put some of the plants in my raised bed, and my mother put a couple in a pot. The ones in the pot didn't do as good as the ones in my raised bed. I believe Balsam is better suited for in-ground planting. The plants in my bed took to the dryness like troopers, not to mention my plants were thickly loaded with it's lovely blooms! I appreciated them very much, and so did a bumblebee. :) I will continue to grow these for forever!

What are the pros? Looks just like photo

What are the cons? Needs tons of water to grow

Review:

I started these in my greenhouse with high hopes, they were flourishing. When the soil was warmer, i planted these in late april. I HAD TO SET UP A SPRINKLER HOSE AND WAIT THREE MONTHS FOR THESE TINGS TO BLOOM. and they didn't even grow full height. such troble, but i can see how these would look nice in mass plantings if they will grow for you

Review:

My 7-year old niece picked these out from the catalog, and we were so impressed. They are so pretty and easy to grow. They took off without much help and re-seeded themselves, so we've been enjoying them for months. Highly recommended!

Review:

My 6 year old niece picked these out from the catalog last year, and we were so impressed by their appearance and their effortlessness. We got tons of plants that kept on blooming and self-sowed again and again. We still have some growing all by themselves a year later!

What are the pros? Afternoon shade if in a pot

What are the cons? HOT Sun

Review:

Very prolific in pots but can't take afternoon sun unless in the ground. Seeds pods are cute hanging from stems. Just like impatiens with withered blooms.
