What are the pros? Delicious, mild flavor.
What are the cons? No dislikes.
Direct sown in February and almost exactly 60 days later the root bulbs begin popping up from the soil indicating they are ready or nearly ready to be harvested. Grown in hard packed alkaline clay. I was shocked that the turnips were lovely and round. Tan skin, white crisp mild flesh. I prepared some lightly saute'd in butter, some in stir fry. Very good flavor! The greens of turnips are also edible and I prepared them with my meals. These were the best turnips I've grown over decades of gardening. This was a new to me variety this year. Also trying the Hinona Kabu Turnip for stir fry and fermenting. They take a bit longer...I'll be sure to add a review for those too!
