Tall plants can grow 10 feet tall and produce extra-long, smooth, round pods that can be cooked at larger sizes than most okra. This okra requires a long season, but is quite delicious. This Fillipino variety was brought to the USA by Melba Hamilton, and she and her husband kindly sent us these seeds. Photo provided by Erwin Antonio

What are the pros? Pest-resistant. Easy to grow.

What are the cons? Need gloves to harvest.

Review:

Bought these last year as I missed eating it and the okras available in the stores are nothing like it. My husband and I were very happy with it! My husband used to eat okra only fried. But I steamed this and served it with just salt and pepper and he loved it! Prolific producer! Yes, I am buying again. And again.

What are the pros? heavy producer

What are the cons? spines

Review:

Very heavy producer - outproduced Clemson Spineless plants growing nearby by about 30%. Good taste and stays tender to a large size. Need to wear gloves when harvesting. Grew to about 10 ft tall.
