70 days. A wonderful eggplant from Ping Tung, Taiwan. Fruits are purple and up to 18” long and 2” in diameter. This variety is so sweet and tender, superbly delicious! One of the best Chinese eggplants on the market.

Review:

We started these in the greenhouse here in Arkansas then transplanted and they were wonderful! High production and great flavor. These produced long into the fall with large eggplants. Will definitely be growing these again.

Review:

I've grown this eggplant for 4-5 years under various conditions. The first year was the best year that I had for these eggplants, when I grew them in an earthbox. The second year I tried them in the ground with poor results that I attributed to the lack of water. The third year I tried them in an earthbox again--the plants grew beautifully but the fruit kept reverting to a white color instead of purple and ended up with a bitter taste. The fourth year the plants were attacked by aphids and the fruit all reverted to white. I had high hopes for this eggplant but am giving up on it for a few years and trying a different Asian eggplant. Maybe I'll try it again if I can't find a better Asian eggplant. I'm going to say that I recommend it with reservations.

What are the pros? Productive, not bitter

What are the cons? nothing

Review:

I've tried growing quite a few types of eggplant, but this is still my favorite. This year I tried spreading used coffee grounds around the base of my eggplants and it seemed to help with the insect damage. Read that tip someplace and will do it again next year.

Review:

Planted 4 of these Mar. 10th from seeds I started indoors. These have been non stop producers! No bitter taste, soaking not needed. Not the right shape really for a slicer with breading, but make an excellent "meat-less" burger from a recipe online. No need to skin, and no bitterness. I have to picked every two days and from 4 plants, I get another 12-15 (6-8") eggplants. These passed up the small tomato cages, plants are now over 4 ft. and still growing! Have survived Zone 9 summer heat, which has been a constant 92-98*. Have produced much better than the Florida Market variety that I grew.
