65-75 days. Compact plants produce beautiful 8-12 ounce fruit with a very sweet, rich, dark tomato flavor. 10 out of 10 people liked the port wine colored beefsteak with metallic green stripes better than Cherokee Purple in a farmers market taste off. Select seed, grown by Brad.

What are the pros? Easy Grower, Low Maintenance

What are the cons? None

Review:

I have been growing these for a couple of years now with great success. Last summer I had an infant and my garden didn't do very well. Except these lovely tomatoes. I still got my fix despite pretty much total neglect. Production obviously isn't as great in those circumstances, but other varieties failed completely (my fault not theirs). This was still a regular producer, and one of the most delicious tomatoes. I have a couple of tomato hating kids (what? they must not be mine!), but even they love these. I tell everyone to get them for their gardens, maybe I shouldn't let my secret out.

Review:

This was my favorite tomato last year, and I'll grow it again. Rich purple tomato taste- I can see how it beat's Cherokee! The first and last producing tomato out of 10 varieties. Drought-resistant in my un-irrigated garden, and no fungal or disease problems in the humid TN summer. And did I mention, the merit on beauty alone? If grown for market, no one can resist.

What are the pros? Vigor, super early maturity

What are the cons? Fast fade and very sun needy.

Review:

My plants were the stars of the seedling tray and bore the first fruit on July 23 which is extraordinary with artworks too beautiful to eat. But they are as tasty and juicy as they look and are keepers in the garden next year. But they are rangers with some stems reaching 10 feet in length and must be heavily mulched with straw early on, too juicy for any storage thoughts. Winning pico de gallo!
