65-75 days. Compact plants produce beautiful 8-12 ounce fruit with a very sweet, rich, dark tomato flavor. 10 out of 10 people liked the port wine colored beefsteak with metallic green stripes better than Cherokee Purple in a farmers market taste off. Select seed, grown by Brad.

What are the pros? easy to grow, large fruit, YUM

What are the cons? none

Review:

I will grow again & again. It's large, beautiful to see, & tastes amazing. I have an abundance of fruit - & with the mild summer we've had, I'm worried I won't have enough time to ripen as many as we'd like. We are also in love with the Rebekah Allen, but this one is prettier :)

What are the pros? Rich and intense flavor

What are the cons? Eat quickly, not a keeper

Review:

This tomato was bland early in the season, and then this wonderful, robust old fashioned tomatoey flavor emerged. Although the plant has a compact and bushy disposition, it pumped out lots of tomatoes (<20) which seemed to ripen almost at the same time much like a determinant. We had one record setting hot day which reached 110 F and several of the near ripe fruits cooked and liquified on the vine, but the tomatoes remained intact. I can't complain because the resulting juice was amazing. This would make an excellent salsa tomato due to the intensity and richness. This is not a sweet tomato, however the flavor is outstanding. The added bonus is the beauty of these tomatoes with metallic striping.

What are the pros? Flavor

What are the cons? Small yield

Review:

Very tasty tomato, so sweet and robust, with a pleasant juicy texture. I am in love. Only wish it produced more fruit...I grew 4 varieties this year and all produced many fruits but this one was minimal. Only a handful of fruits, same with Blue Beauty variety, whereas my Orange Russian had about 13 fruits, within the same environment and feeding habits. Will perhaps plant more than one next year.

What are the pros? flavor

What are the cons? Lower yeild

Review:

This is the best tasting tomatoe I have ever eaten. By sharing some with co-workers I have won 2 new people over to the cause of heirloom gardening. Not the strongest yield but they did come on early. Overall a winner.
