What are the cons? none
This is a pretty green plant in our high desert mountains and my honeybees really like it in late summer when other plants start to fade even thought the flowers are small.

What are the pros? easy to grow
I bought this based on Sej's review & that their dog had self-medicated on it. How awesome to provide herbs for your pet as well as yourself!! This is a very pretty plant. The leaves are easy to harvest & dry. I have started making skin salve with this, calendula & wild violet leaf. I was super pleased the 2nd year when it had re-seeded & multiple new plants came up.

What are the pros? Easy to Grow, Good medicinal
What are the cons? zero!
Central Texas grower. I grew this for use in a wound balm but was disappointed to find that my dog had eaten it's leaves to the ground. It came back thankfully no matter how he munched it. Soon he stopped eating it and I found out he had gotten into rat poison (a discovery after "poopy patrol"). After checking on the internet, I found out that plantain is high in vitamin K and he was self medicating (He also went after the lovage). He's fine and the plant grew back healthier than ever. Now I keep this plant and several herbs out for the dogs to get at in case they need the greens or the medicine. It can take the abuse and I have better peace of mind knowing they have a recourse if they aren't feeling well. Can't recommend it enough!
