Annual. Dahlia-flowered type is one of the tallest we’ve seen! The flowers are extra large and brilliant amethyst-purple, with pale green centers. Fine for cut flowers but the lavish display is best appreciated right in the garden, especially in mass plantings. Beloved in gardens since 1949. Fabulous!

What are the pros? loads of long lasting blooms

What are the cons? stems break easily at joints

Review:

These zinnias get HUGE. I have one planted in a large container near a porch railing. The plant is 4 feet tall and still growing. Some of the flowers are 4-5 inches across. Planting them near a fence or railing gives them some support. In wet weather the flower heads get heavy and the plant tends to break easily where the stems branch. These make great cut flowers and are really a beautiful dark purple. Will be planting these again next year for sure.
