What are the pros? Pretty, tasty and easy to pick
What are the cons? None
These beans rival my Blue Lake Bush Beans in taste, size and quality, which I planted right next to these....but grow very differently. The bean pods started just a bit later than the blue lakes and at first I thought the harvest was a bit light with just a few beans per plant. Then after a couple of weeks they started producing like crazy and I was having just as hard of a time keeping up with the picking as I was with the blue lakes. The blue lakes are hard to find amongst the green foliage, but these purple beans send their beans up on naked stems to dangle above the foliage, almost as if the plants were saying, "here you go, have my beans friend!" There are sometimes a few beans hidden underneath amongst the leaves, so be sure to take a quite peek. They produced like crazy almost up until frost...they slowed a little at the end, but still produced. They taste great, freeze great and look pretty when picked with green and yellow beans too. Highly recommend! :)
