After a friend from Milan made us a simple pasta dish with broccoli raab (rapini) we decided to try growing it ourselves. We've had excellent yields for two years running. The best part? They come a little earlier than a lot of the other veggies, so by the time we are sick of lettuce but don't have anything else we have lots of broccoli raab to fill the void.Tastes something like broccoli crossed with arugula (a bit bitter with a chewy consistency). Great tossed with pasta and a simple butter-parmesan sauce. Add dried tomatoes and pine nuts for a bit more pep.
