NEW! Semi-determinate, 70 days. The name means "King of the Earlies," and this is indeed an early type for its size and quality. A Portuguese market variety, from seed originally sent by our Portuguese friend, Joao Barroca of Lisbon. Well-flavored fruits grow to one-half pound, perfect for slicing and sandwiches. Uniform, flattened globes are blemish-free and very resistant to cracking. Relatively compact plants yielded abundantly for a couple of months in our trials. Just a really nice, all-purpose red tomato.

Review:

Okay, so 2010 was admittedly a lousy tomato year here. I don't mean to condemn it unfairly. Maybe it WAS the weather. However, Rei Dos Temporoes scored dead last in our annual Tomato Tasting, 38th of 38 varieties. Rei Dos Temporoes was not super productive, though it gave a fair amount of standard red tomatoes in the 7-9 oz slicer size. Thirty testers found the flavor to be nothing special, rather "blah."
