What are the pros? Wonderful meatiness and flavor
What are the cons? Use fresh. Does not store well
I have family heirloom tomatoes (a Brandywine) that I used to grow exclusively. However, Rose deBerne from Baker Creek is the only seed I buy and grow, in addition. I mention the Brandywines because I think this Rose deBerne tomato has that excellent flavor, thin skin, meaty interior, and it ripens earlier than larger tomatoes. It is also versatile, being good for both sandwiches or a flavorful tomato sauce when cooked with some herbs.
