What are the pros? very good value

What are the cons? none

Review:

I have planted this 3 times now in September for overwintering. It was 25 degrees at night for two weeks at least and this lettuce survived in good shape. I plant thickly and keep thinning for baby greens until I have a few big heads left for Spring harvest. Always delicious down to the last leaf.

What are the cons? deer really liked it too :(

Review:

we live in th high desert of Southern Utah. This lettuce did GREAT! i planted it twice - once as a spring crop and once as a fall crop. it grows quickly and densly as i planted it. i was giving bags of it away. pretty plant, easy to grow, required less watering than other types of lettuce... can pick outer leaves or cut whole thing down - often it just kept right on growing. i was eating this lettuce through early july (temps get to 100 degrees) and i also was eating it through early december with only a lite row cover on top of it at night. i probably could have continued but we forgot the row cover one night and the deer mowed it down :( i guess they like it too. it has a mild taste.

Review:

So this was my first year gardening and despite being heavily abused and/or neglected, it would not die. So after the experimental first round in spring, I did a proper bed and it's been giving me and the grashoppers nice lettuce. Am gonna seed some more now that it suddenly isn't 90° + in southern California and hope I get more of that beautiful red color with proper fall weather.

Apparently, this little wonder can handle contrasting climates extremely well. I'm in Texas, in a drought, with temperatures jumping from the mid 40s to almost 90 degrees and back again. These lovelies just continue to grow. They don't even seem to mind getting watered only sporadically. Beautiful groundcover, and when I mix it with the liime green Gotte Jaune D'Or lettuce sold here and a little dill, it looks like a picture from a textbook on ornamental edible gardening. Seems to love growing next to my strawberries too. I'm online today just so I can come back and order some more.

Review:

We had a very wet Oregon spring, but this lettuce did very well. It was my first experience with this variety and was pleased with its fine, dark color and sweet flavor. It added lovely color to salad bowls and the bags of lettuce I gave away! Try it.
