What are the pros? Delicious

What are the cons? Not all that heat tolerant

Review:

I'm growing several Kale varieties right now. This one is my least favorite AT THE MOMENT. It's August in SoCal.. My White Russian kale is HUGE. They were planted at the same time. Maybe red Russian does much better in the fall/winter? I don't know. I see posts stating that this variety is heat tolerant. I disagree. It's the least tolerant of the kale varieties I'm growing and it hasn't been over 100 degrees in SoCal this summer. GREAT TASTING THOUGH!

Review:

We have had no rain for months, two 113 degree days and a month of above 90 degrees. They are still trucking out a bountiful arm load harvest every few days. They are on drip for a 60 min a day. 2 gallons an hour. 6 by 3 foot bed

Review:

I grew a big bunch of this under my growlights over the winter and when my other plants were all ready to transplant I moved the grown kale into the garden where it has continued to thrive. I also direct seeded a couple rows which are growing wonderfully.

What are the pros? Easy to grow & taste great!

What are the cons? None

Review:

This kale is fool proof - easy to grow in the hot and humid Texas heat with little to no attention. However, the raised bed we have for this kale is primarily in the shade and allows for the big roots to grow directly into the ground. It gets morning and early afternoon sun. The current bed has 8 big healthy plants that are over a year old and still producing. 8 seeds, 8 plants for a 100% germination rate. Highly recommended. We cut out the thick stem and sautee with olive oil or coconut oil, garlic, onion, seasonings, and maybe a splash of soy sauce (the Bragg natural soy sauce alternative).

What are the cons? The bugs love them too

Review:

On Nov 1 after the first snow of this year I picked a mess of this kale, it had been producing all summer. It taste great, even raw. I some seedling now in a cold frame to see how it works in late fall. You have to be diligent because the cabbage worm and harlequin Beatles love it to, I use B T for worms and dish soap for Beatles
