I was looking for a book that thoroughly covered saving seeds- how to do it, what they looked like, when to do it, etc. because to be honest, I knew nothing about it.I can now highly recommend this book. It provides all the info you need to know, including: an explanation on how plants cross-pollinate, how you can prevent cross-pollination, how to process seeds for each vegetable type, how to tell when seeds are ready, how to harvest seeds, how to hand pollinate, why to grow heirlooms, as well as numerous seed saving/buying sources so as to obtain rare and common varieties. This is a book I am using often and will continue to do so. When I need to know how far apart I plant different varieties, 'Seed to Seed' is the book I take off my shelf. It's definitely worth a buy- you won't be disappointed.

I've learned a lot from this book that has enabled me to save seed & make plans for saving seed in 2010 while also ensuring that some of my garden plants don't become cross pollinated. This book is particularly useful for people that have gotten their hands on hard to find seed and are interested in keeping the strain pure when saving their own seed.
