An attractive, creamy-parchment colored tomato that is sweet and flavorful. The fruit are medium in size and are great in salads or eaten fresh as fruit. The plants are productive and produce quickly. According to William Woys Weaver, this variety dates to around 1890 when it was grown in field tests on Long Island. Pretty and tasty, this variety is perfect for the home gardener and the trendy chef.

Review:

Shah, White Potato Leaf, either way, I love 'em! These beautiful tomatoes not only are very "ornamental" in that they're a gorgeous translucent white with a pretty pink blush, but they're also super sweet and delicious, which in my limited "white" color tomatoes experience, isn't common. I grew these in a greenhouse and they did pretty well, but didn't tolerate heat like others. I still had some fruits though and the best description is that they're like a larger version of a Snowberry tomato. Very sweet, kinda fruity, in a candied citrus kind of way.

There's a long thread at another message site which proves that Shah has long been extinct. What Will Weaver introduced is probably White Potato Leaf. The original catalog listing for Shah has a totally different description of the variety.
