What are the pros? Fast growing, beautiful color!
What are the cons? None!
I planted my beet seeds the last week of November in coconut-cour Seed starter pots in a heated mini indoor green house. The seeds sprouted in less than a week and I transplanted them into a larger pot with composted soil, organic fertilizer and peat moss under grow lights. After five weeks the leaves are about 6-7 inches long and a lusious deep green with deep red veins and they are very tasty! I am growing these to eat the beet greens and I am very impressed with how fast growing these are. I plan to eat the beet roots as well once mature. I think this is a fantastic plant to grow for indoor greens. It is fast producing and abundant leaf production.
