Review:

I've wanted to try growing scented stock after a friend told me of working in stock fields in California and the beautiful scent. I started these indoors and the seeds had a great germination rate and sprouted quickly. I planted most outside, and they grew quickly and bloomed, but I was disappointed because they did not seem to smell. I still had a couple plants inside under a grow light however that I didn't get around to planting outside, and they had begun to bloom. One night I walked into the room after the grow light was off, and the scent of sweet cloves was so powerful it almost stung my throat. That was when I finally understood that stock flowers are only scented at night, but very powerfully scented. The plants are somewhat short lived after they flower, but so easy to grow and smell so good, they are well worth the effort. They may last longer if the spent blooms are removed, but I haven't tried that yet.
