52 days. All-America winner for 1935! Smooth, straight, deep green 8-inch fruits with rounded blunt ends. Early, vigorous and prolific; tolerates mosaic virus. A superb variety that has stood the test of time.

What are the pros? Easy to grow, Prolific

What are the cons? None

Review:

This is the only cucumber my family will grow. Best pickling and slicing cucumber. Best at 8 inches. Watch out for hidden ones...they get HUGE. Not very good once they get that big.

Review:

Weve had a ton of rain and all of my vines got powder mildew tried milk spray didn't help baking soda mix did seem to stop it spreading! This cucumber is best taste of my two varieties if you let it get to big skin gets bitter it was quick to grow but slow to fruit I'm getting some more now but only one or two a week on 3plants so far. Will grow again because it is crisp and tastes great with smaller seeds!

What are the pros? Works well in dryer conditions

What are the cons? Covered in mildew fast

Review:

My Marketmore 76 cucumber crop was wiped out last year by mosaic disease (even though they're described as 'mosaic-tolerant'), so I decided to try the Straight Eight cucumber this year. Unfortunately they are being inundated with mold from some early heavy rains. And even though we've been dry for quite some time now (and spraying soda/water and milk/water to prevent/get rid of), nothing is working. The cucumbers have just started producing and the taste is good but they're dry compared to the Marketmore 76 and many were deformed. I think I'm going to go back to the MM 76.
