Annual. Single, large flowers are very impressive for their size—10” flower heads on 2-3 foot plants. Color is a warm sunflower yellow with a dark center. Excellent container subject, placed where the geometry of the flowers’ centers can be appreciated close up.

What are the pros? Strong, Solid, Beautiful

What are the cons? None

Review:

Started three seeds in a 4in pot then transplanted into a large 10gal ceramic pot. These developed wonderfully and even thrived in poor soil (leftover from last year's planting and no amendment was added). They are now about 2ft tall with 8-9in full heads. Absolutely stunning for such a compact size.

Review:

I direct sowed these into poor soil with a high clay content about 2 weeks before the date of our last frost. The germination rate was very high! They endured two light freezes as seedlings, then it warmed up and they took off. They are about 2 ft tall now and starting to bloom. The heads are nice sized and the plants are very sturdy. I have a solid row of them and they are beautiful. If you want to plant sunflowers but don't want 10 ft tall plants taking over these are perfect.
