Tennessee Red Cob Corn

White dent-type kernels are produced on deep red cobs! There are a number of red-cob types that hail from The Volunteer State, but this one was preserved and documented by University of Tennessee. Generally yields a single nice ear per plant, and has exceptional drought tolerance. The red cobs open up interesting possibilities for crafters. Superior for grinding into flour, or for roasting ears.

What are the pros? Easy, as corn goes, to grow

What are the cons? Slow maturing

Review:

I planted this in addition to Cherokee White Eagle corn. What a grower ! The stalks were robust and very tall. Produced good sized cobs. I really liked this corn ! Great to eat and the stalks made a wonderful stack for decoration at Halloween.

What are the pros? easy but very tall corn

What are the cons? none

Review:

i grew up with this corn, it was the only corn grandfather grew. the ears were large and very good in the milk stage. not a sweet corn as such but as a kid in the 50s, we ate alot of it. it needs room to grow because it can get very tall, about 8 feet.
