Famous in Thailand, the egg-sized fruit are picked when they are bright golden-yellow. They are used in many Thai dishes and as a garnish. A unique variety for specialty growers.

What are the pros? Interesting

What are the cons? Too small.

Review:

Planted it in a pot on my front stoop. It took forever to set fruit and when it did all 2 of them were too small to use. Granted it suffered a bit of neglect as I was in the process of fixing up a house 400 miles away so it had to rely on various relatives remembering to water it. Foliage was fine and since I had it tucked in with flower pots it added a nice green backdrop.

What are the pros? did well, little care

What are the cons? none

Review:

Just planted one on a lark last spring. Would be better here as fall planting I think. Didn't do much during the hot summer, but took off this fall. More than twenty fruit on one plant although some may not ripen on the plant before frost comes, but at least 3/4 of them already have. Fruit are mostly about 2-2 1/2 inches in diameter.

What are the pros? Interesting color and shape

What are the cons? Extremely slow to mature

Review:

I won't be growing this one again. The plant simply failed to thrive. I didn't get a single fruit until September and the fruits were too small to really do anything with. Oh well!
