What are the pros? Everything!

What are the cons? Growth rate can vary.

Review:

These are fantastic red onions. Germination rates are consistently high, 90 % for me! They grow well in containers and I suspect will grow just about anywhere. Set them and forget them. In a few months you will have fat, rich, flavorful and sweet red bulbs for salads, saut?, pizzas, omelets... I've put them in everything and never been disappointed -- never pulled a bitter one. Plant a lot of them and stagger your harvest so you have them year round. I re-ordered them in bulk!

What are the pros? germinates well

What are the cons? not easy

Review:

The seeds I got here were great. Onions generally have a poor germination rate, but these were great. I started some in potting soil and they took off. Almost all of them came up. When I transplanted them to my garden they died. I also directly planted some seeds in my garden, and they died too. I know the problem was my soil since they did so well in the potting soil. next year these would work better in a raised bed with potting soil.

Review:

Tried them 2 yrs ago, love them in anything. Grew them close together, thinning as I needed them. At end of season dehydrated the remaining, cut them up small, almost into flakes, used them all the next year for seasoning. Missed them last year so I am buying them again this year. Was first item on my list!

Review:

This onion is a staple in my garden; it finds its way into every Greek salad, salsa, vinaigrette, potato salad, stir fry, etc. It is full of flavour and has just enough spice. This onion is best fresh out of the garden and does not keep more than a month or two after fall harvest. To extend harvesting period, transplant seedlings close together and thin to every other plant when they are red-bottomed green onions!
