A real crowd pleaser, True Gold Corn is fast growing and tough, all the while producing a buttery sweet flavor, exactly how sweet corn should taste! These sturdy plants produce 8” long golden yellow ears are super tender, ideal for roasting, or even eating raw right out of the garden!

What are the pros? Easy to grow and tastes great!

What are the cons? Not a thing!

Review:

Crowded seeds about 8 inches apart in a 3 x 24 foot raised bed of loose sandy soil with aged horse manure dumped in in late February or early March. Ignored them until today, May 25, when I noticed some of the ears looked kind of ripe. Picked a dozen and steamed one for lunch. OMG! The ears were mostly large with beautiful rows of kernels, so pretty to look at! And YUMMY! Very sweet and tender! This will be my go-to corn from now on!

What are the pros? high germination, wind resist

What are the cons? corn earworms small ears

Review:

Planted about 60 seeds in four short rows. The corn had a very very high germination rate. I think only about 2 didn't actually grow. Just a few of the sprouts didn't get very tall or produce. I planted the rows about 2 feet apart and seeds 10 inches apart. The corn was really pretty and stood up well against high winds. I was impressed with how good this corn looked! Every single cob has had ear worms. I am an organic gardener so I do not use chemical pesticides. A few of the cobs had corn smut, but it's been a hot and humid year with above average rains. The flavor is not particularly sweet, but once I cut off the insect damage on every single ear of corn, the corn was a really pretty bright yellow. I loved this corn for the easy of growth and high germination, just wished it was a little sweeter.

What are the pros? Easy to grow and delicious!

What are the cons? Nothing

Review:

My husband is a gardener and is VERY particular about growing just the right things for our hard-to-grow-in climate. He is especially particular about his corn and likes is sweet and tender. We have been though several kinds of corn and he has characteristically disliked each one, but when we tried True Gold, he fell in love, and we've never used anything since. Definitely worth trying!
