Another one of Beanmaster Domenico Belisarios special selections. Domenico raises almost two dozen heirloom varieties on his family farm in Basilicata Province in Southern Italy. Domenico is a fourth Generation bean farmer and extremely proud that he does it the old fashioned way. He allows his pole varieties to grow on the local corn and his whole farm is in tune with nature. So esteemed are the beans from Domenico and his neighbors in Italy that they are recognized gastronomically! This variety is stunning with its tiger like stripes across a mottled tan/white surface.

What are the pros? Grows fast

What are the cons? None

Review:

I purchased a package of 10 beans in 2015 but found I had no room left to plant them in 2016. I planted them this year in the middle in late January. Of the 10 seeds four sprouted and grew. They where 2 year old beans so that's okay. Its now May and I harvested 1-1/2 cups of beans. Not bad for 4 old beans. Not enough for a meal but plenty to grow for next year. They are very plump about 1/2" in size. I cant wait until next year to have enough to eat them. I will let you all know how they are. I only gave 4 stars because I dont know how they cook up and taste yet. But here in Califonia they grew well.

What are the cons? Trivial, late harvest

Review:

Beautiful bean, deer chomped my plants at bout 3'. They rebounded and produced a nice pint of dry beans. They are excellent decor for the kitchen.
