A recent introduction from Europe. The tasty fruit are good-sized; a unique pale pink, with beautiful golden stripes that are quite distinct. Rich flavor and rare beauty make this a new winner. Potato-leafed plants.

What are the pros? taste

What are the cons? dislikes frost

Review:

Love this tomato--picture not as mine in color but shape is as picture. Not the first tomato I start--feel it isn't the toughest to cool weather--if you like red brandywine taste --you should like vintage wine.

What are the pros? Yield was acceptable, color

What are the cons? overall performance

Review:

I tried these in 4 different garden situations last year. My home where the soil is rich, raised bed at greenhouses, large container in hoophouse with regular grooming/fertilizer & in a large garden w/sandy loam and even moisture in a tomato cage. In the raised bed they fruited very heavily at first, then the fruit got sunburned and the thin vines burned up. In my home garden there were a couple fruits and the same ending to the vines. Same results on the tomato cage. In the greenhouse there were few fruits, but the vines lived longer trained on 8' strings. I think if my growing season were longer and there was some mid afternoon shade, these might have grown better. The skin is transparent striped yellow with pinkish flesh beneath. Fruit was waxy without much flavor.

What are the pros? Great taste

What are the cons? Slow to mature

Review:

These did not grow true to the description at all, making me wonder if there is a cross or bad seeds. However, what did grow was a deep wine colored tomato with almost black edges. Absolutely delicious but no stripes. I would grow for flavor again for sure, assuming this isn't a hybrid and I can save seeds to see if it turns out the same next year. Absolutely beautiful for slicing.
