What are the pros? Grew fast, likes manure, tough
What are the cons? Slow drying down
Wades Giant was a little slow to emerge, but moisture conditions were tough right after planting,so I irrigated, and it came up.It grew fast and liked the manure I worked in and used it well, had great color, pollinated very well.It cross bred with some regular Indian corn I had from the farm store and made some real funky lookin corn on a few stalks.I had a lot of 12-14 inch ears.I ordered 2 packets and didnt get enough for 2 full rows in my garden,so order plenty.Livestock loves the ears.Im saving seed, and want to raise this corn to pick in the ear and feed livestock. It pollinated well, but we had unseasonably cool and moist weather at the time.I am curious how well it does at 100 degrees and a 20 mph wind during pollinating time.If it'll yield anything like what it did this time,Im hooked for life.I loved raising this corn.P.S. Heres a bonus...Ive had coons ruin corn for years, and even though they broke over a few stalks, they left the ears alone. So cows love it and coons dont!
