What are the pros? Very low maintenance
What are the cons? none
I put this out in my garden last year. It grew beautiful feathery foliage, but no flowers (as expected from a perennial). I didn't bother to cut it back when winter rolled around. It stayed green even when covered in snow. This spring it shot up over 3 feet tall with beautiful white flowers. The best part? It has been a home to so many predatory bugs! I've seen ladybugs, a praying mantis, and lacewings. It even gave a home to parasitic wasps that took care of my aphid problem for me. Not to mention the bees love it! If you're looking to attract beneficial insects to your garden, plant Yarrow.

What are the pros? Spreads fast
What are the cons? None
I'm ordering this for the first time here. I bought a seed pack at another place years ago. The shipping here is lower,so I am ordering from Baker Creek. I started the Yarrow years ago in my front yard and it took off. I wanted it as a medicinal, my neighbors think it is beautiful. So do I. It is a great plant as a border around a tree, as I have transplanted 6 cuts around a Japanese Red Maple. Now I have a full red tree with white to light pink flower heads. Last summer people actually stopped in front of my house and knocked on my door to ask what the Yarrow was. It is a striking picture. The flower heads are flat and reminds me of the many Atlantic flights I make while in the military. Being high above the scattered white clouds is the way Yarrow looks to me. Just a wonderful sight.

I like this plant. It's a little "floppy" but it's hardy and smells so nice when it's leggy flowers fall into the path, getting stepped on. I like the feathery foliage so I don't hesitate to cut the flowers. Nice, and easy to grow. All the seeds sprouted in my greenhouse and survived my neglect!
