67 days We're so pleased to be able to offer this old favorite! Small white seeds are produced abundantly, and very easily shelled out. At the green-shell stage, the "string" running the length of each 6- to 9-inch pod is easily removed, acting just like a zipper, releasing the tender morsels within—up to 20 per pod! Some say the peas taste more like garden or English peas than those of many cowpea varieties. Resists root-not nematode, and yields over a super-long season, throwing many vines from the original bushy plants. This 1972 release from the Florida Experiment Station in Gainesville is still one of the best.
