What are the pros? Easy to grow, NO SQUASH BUGS
What are the cons? none
Last year my Golden Egg squash was overrun with squash bugs. So was my crookneck. It was a daily battle which I ended up losing. After some research, I found this variety and planted them in a raised bed with an 8' trellis. They are already starting to bloom and it's only early June, and the vines are getting huge - one is already to the top of the trellis.
Best of all - NOT ONE SQUASH BUG! I live in the country, so there are bugs everywhere. Not one found on this variety so far.
