What are the pros? HUGE!
What are the cons? not consistantly huge
I'll preface this by saying I planted late in the season, 3/31 starting seed inside. MUCH later than desirable, and I have still yielded quite massive onions! The season actually isn't over yet (its August in Montana) and the onions are still trucking away, haven't had any show signs that they're done growing(hence the 4 on early maturity, but I'm taking into consideration that I planted late). I have resisted picking any early even though they are so big, because I want to give them the chance to fulfill their potential. We planted a 5 loaf pans of seed this spring, but only actually planted two of those in our garden(space restrictions) so around 150 onions planted if I remember correctly. We plan on trying to dehydrate some for later use so we don't have to try and eat all the dang things when they mature in a month or so. Will compete review with my opinion on taste once we've tasted them!
