110 days “Aka” means red in Japanese; both the plants and the hulls have a definite reddish tint to them. Ben Rooney of Wild Folk farm writes: “Have yet to taste this but it is a red rice, so I knew we wanted to grow more.” A lighter red and light brown color, almost transparent. Lowland rice, originated in Hokkaido, Japan.

What are the pros? The early Maturity and yield

What are the cons? Dislike cool wheather

Review:

Spring and summer was very hot this year with lot of contrast of cool temperature. I have Start the first sowing in the begining of april (out door the day and indoor the night), young plant suffer of cool climat, But panicles appeared in 90 days. very nice. Plants grow in contener and are watering each day or less, depend on heat. The second sowing was in the first day of may. 90 day too but less productiv Surprising, to see a second panicle appear on the first dry panicle.
